won't rest 'til I'm brown

I remember when I was quite a bit younger my skin would get quite brown in the summers, and as I got older with the two months of sun we see in Montreal it would just stay the same not knowing what to do.
Last summer I have never been more tanned in my life, and this summer apart from the shitty weather until recently, my skin seems to understand to turn brown, and turn brown fast!
Tomorrow we are off to the pool at the Cascine - I have yet to be in a pool in Italy, or one anywhere for a very long time. But I want sun.

Did I just write a paragraph about tanning? Possibly.
This is San Paolo alla Croce in Certosa where we went for an aperitivo for Riccardo's birthday, Tuesday night. I was the only foreigner. It was incredibly posh. Full of Florentines. Incredibly awkward. 10 euro for aperitivo, and once the food was cleared away it was 8 euro a cocktail and turned into some dance club - we promptly were out of there by midnight.

It is way too hot. The hottest week of the summer and I've been downing water all day only to have a pipe at work break and I've never had to wee worse in my life. The students are complaining to make matters even worse.
Tonight we are headed out to the country-ish side for an aperitivo birthday. Tonight shall definitely be interesting.

ingorgo sonoro 09

Ingorgo Sonoro was paid a visit by us last Saturday. Basically, the town of San Piero a Sieve turns into the biggest nightlife event in Tuscany - every piazza plays different music and then at a certain hour everyone heads to the main one to dance, drink, anything your heart desires. Possibly the best time I've had in Italy. We left with Giova and Emi, Nat and I, with Niccolò driving. I abandoned Nat and the boys because of complications. Complications that became even more complicated on Sunday morning.
